Command-Line Options:

Descendancy Chart conversion can be started by opening a DOS console window and entering the following command:

[Pathname/]dc2ged.exe DescChartFileName.txt ChartType (1, 2, 3, 4 or 5)

e.g. C:\GCU\dc2ged.exe MyFamily.txt 3 (for processing a Type 3 descendancy chart)

To accomplish this:  open a DOS console window, enter the above command,  and then press the Enter key.

If the conversion was successful, you can now view the output file "MyFamily.ged" in any text editor.

If the conversion was not successful, you may correct any problems causing conversion failure by viewing/editing the following files:

"MyFamily.out"

"MyFamily.nam"

"MyFamily.cnv"  (if this is created)
