This is what I've learned about my
Palentine ancestor, Valentin Kuhn who was born about 1685. He was from
Annsburg, Palatine region of Germany. He is listed as one of the male
Paletines in 1710 who came to America. Shortly before or after arriving
here he married Anna Catharina Weis. His name appears on the tax list
on March 11, 1726 in the North Ward of Dutchess Co., N.Y.--possibly in
Rhinebeck, Red Hook or Elizaville.

Susanna Hoffman.
Henry Koon and Susanna Hoffman had a son, John. born 12/12/1749. He
married first to Nellie Coon on 9/2/1769, second to Sarah Salisbury on
2/9/1773, and third to Mercy Crego (widow of Stephen Crego of Sandlake,
New York). John died 4/10/1814 at Wynantskill, N.Y. He and Sarah are
buried in a small private cemetery there on the family farm.
John Koon and Sarah Salisbury had a son, John, born 13/7/1788. He
married Hannah House.
John Koon and Hannah House had a son, Henry, born 1823 in Rennsalaer
County, N.Y. He married 18/9/1848 at Pittsfield, MA to Theodosia Leonard
Joy who was the daughter of Ira and Clarissa Joy.
