Anna, our immagrant ancestor, born on the 22nd day of
January in 1682 at Oberndorf, Germany, was the daughter of Hans Peter
Rapp and Anna Margareth Sontag.
She came to this country with her husband, Johann Valentin Frolich,
whom she had married on 29 January 1704. They had emigrated to New
York about 1710 according to Henry Z. Jones Jr. in his book The Palatine
Families of New York. They had the following children among others:
Hans Peter, Anna's father, lived in Mannweiler, Germany. His marriage to
Anna Margareth Sontag, the daughter of Claus Sontag occurred on the third
day of June in the year 1673. Their daughter's baptism in 1682 is registered
in the Oberndorf church book of Mannweiler, Germany.
The father of Hans Peter, Herr Asmus Rapp, was an official of the town of
Zweybruck. He had married Appolina Wenz on 23/11/1652. We know nothing
about her or her parents, nor do we know any other details about our Rapp
ancestors. Claus Sontag is a mystery to us also.
