James Hans was born on December 31st, 1671 in New York, N. Y..  James Hans' father is Hans Laurenszen and his mother is Marritje Satyrs.  His paternal grandfather was Laurens Duyts and his paternal grandmother is Ytie Jansen.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 73 on November 26th, 1745 in Machaponec, Middlesex Co., N.J..
