Pierre Charles de Poitiers

Pierre Charles de Poitiers, Sieur Du Buisson, was an infantry captain, as well as,
a "gentleman-in-waiting" to the Queen of France. Pierre was born about 1601 or 1602
at Sevestre, Amiens in Picardie, France. He married, Dame Helene De
Belleau, the daughter of Antoine De Belleau and Catherine De Vualpergue, but I do
not know the date of this marriage. Antoine and Catherine were married on the 21st of
December in the year 1600. Antoine was buried on 19/3/1641 at St. Andre Des Arts in Paris.
Two children of Pierre Charles and Helene, Jean Baptiste and his sister Marie Charlotte
had both emigrated to New France. They were cousins to Catherine de Belleau who also
came to Canada.
Marie Charlotte de Poitiers had married before to Joseph Hebert in 1660 at
Quebec city. He was the grandson of Louis Hebert, the first Canadian settler-farmer. After
Joseph died she married a second time in 1667 to Simon Lefebvre Angers de Plainval.
Antoine's parents were Jacques De Belleau and Francoise Charlet. They had
married in 1583. His father held the title of Sieur De La Garde. Jacque De Belleau's
parents were Louis De Belleau and Jeanne Dupuis.
